Sarah Sandvig has been teaching voice and piano since 1993. She received her Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from UCLA, and her Masters degree in Music Education from CSULB. She also received the Outstanding Thesis Award in 2004 from CSULB. Sarah has all 12 of her books (Music Theory for Singers Vol. 1-10, Music Theory for Singer Condensed Course, and Answers Keys) published by Kendall Hunt Publishing, in addition to having been published in several educational journals and being recognized for her work with children with autism. Her latest digital series: "Music Theory for Singers: Sight-Singing & Ear-Training" is a huge success with students and teachers around the country. She is an Adjunct Voice Professor at Fullerton College in the Musical Theatre Department and maintains a private studio of over 60 weekly students. Sarah also taught music in the Los Alamitos Unified School district for over 7 years, and was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in 2006. She judges voice competitions through NATS (National Association Teachers of Singing), MTAC, and high school vocal competitions, as well as Festivals throughout Southern California. Sarah is a proud founding member of the non-profit voice organization and competition, VO-CAL. She has several recordings including a solo album "Serendipity" under the name Sarah Suzanne. Sarah hopes her books (both theory and sight-singing) will help singers feel more confident as musicians. Her most important roles, however, are mommy to Aiden and Caleb and wife to Darren.
